OK, so BACK to Blogger I go

May 17, 2008 at 3:54 pm (Uncategorized)

I have found that I update more using Blogger instead of WordPress.  I like wordpress, but it’s a little more time consuming to use, so I’m headed back over to blogger.  I’m so sorry LOL.  Just like in my life, I’m an internet gypsy, never in one place long.  I appreciate you sticking it out with me though!

I plan on expanding my blog to include my scrapbooking, and my life as it doesn’t revolved around photography.  Join me!

Has it REALLY been since September?

January 30, 2008 at 2:28 pm (Family/Kids)

Wow!  I didn’t realize it had been since September that I updated, until I received a comment on my blog about it.  To be honest, I guess it’s because I didn’t think people were actually READING, so I didn’t think I needed to update it as often LOL.  Not to mention, that other than snapshots, it’s been so cold, I really haven’t picked up my camera since November.

I did do a little photoshoot with my oldest.  I would love to do something with my youngest, but as soon as that boy’s feet hit the ground, he is running, and doesn’t stop LOL….

Here are a few pictures from that shoot with my son:

I have some more pictures that I took on the same photoshoot, but I’ve been working on this upload for hours trying to figure it out LOL.  So I will save them for next time!

CKU – Nashville 2007

September 23, 2007 at 9:37 pm (Uncategorized)

So, I went to CKU Albums in Atlanta last year.  I was living in NC, so it wasn’t that bad of a drive.  I had a BLAST, met some really great friends, was in a dorm, the whole she-bang.  I was so looking forward to this year, when CKU headed to Nashville.  However, in between the time at Atlanta, and our trip to Nashville, CKU changed the format.  I really was disappointed.  I didn’t enjoy many of my classes, and most of it seemed geared towards beginner scrapbookers, which is FINE, but advertise it as such, so I don’t end up spending $345 + hotel and food to ‘learn’ stuff I already know!

I do have to say, the venue WAS awesome and did provide a great opportunity for some beautiful photos.  I’m shooting in RAW now, and since I use a Nikon, they have to make it difficult and make them NEF instead of RAW, so it takes me a little longer to edit.  Anyway, so here are a few.  I’ll even add the ones I ran some actions on to soften them up, the before and after.  I also may try the Orten Technique on some and post them later.

I have more to add, but right now, I have a little toddler who is refusing to go to bed.  So I must go tend to him.

Have a great day!!

So, I decided to try a different blog host…

September 22, 2007 at 7:50 pm (Uncategorized)

We’ll see how well it works out.  For some reason, blogger crapped out on me and messed up may layout/template.  I didn’t feel like changing it back, well, I tried, but then gave up.  I have been wanted to check out wordpress anyway, so here I am!  My new home.

To celebrate the move, I have a new post!  LOL

See ya in a minute!

As you know, I have moved….

August 7, 2007 at 4:45 pm (Uncategorized)

Here is a collage of pictures I took this weekend of some landmarks in my area. The pictures are not the greatest, but it’s a constant haze over Atlanta, and hard to find a good weekend when my husband is off that we can run around town and take pictures….

Enjoy!

OK, so yeah, it’s been awhile LOL….Here are some new pics…

July 3, 2007 at 5:52 pm (Uncategorized)

OK, so it’s taken me awhile to pick my camera back up LOL. Between moving and stuff, I just really haven’t had a lot of time. However, I’m back in the saddle again, so to speak….I’m starting with some things in my life that I love, they make me happy….First off, are my BOYS! They can be a handful, they can be SOOO stubborn and spoiled, but I wouldn’t have them any other way because it makes them – them….So here is my oldest who is 8 now….

And my youngest, who is 20 months now! Where does the time go! Quite the little pistol he is too!
Sushi. I suppose I can thank my mom for my love of Sushi. Lately though, I’ve been venturing out of the safety of the California Roll, but I still don’t eat anything raw except for an occasional Philidelphia Roll… Ahhhh, my car LOL….This is my third child. I LOVE my car! I love the smiles it puts on my families faces when we are cruising around with the top down and the smilies on the strangers faces when we meet ‘other Mini’s’. My kids enjoy making sure to wave to all of the other Mini Drivers out there. So, don’t forget to wave!!
Thisis the Kennesaw Civil War Battlefield. They do a little demo and then you can walk around and walk up Kennesaw Mountain. It’s been too hot for me to venture my rear end up there, but I hope to once it cools down some LOL….
So, I hope you enjoyed! Have a wonderful 4th of July! We are going downtown and I plan on taking some awesome fireworks pictures! Be safe!

My Grandfather, My Hero:

To our Soldiers & their families, Past Present & Future -

May 25, 2007 at 7:01 pm (Uncategorized)

Especially to my Grandfather, Ret. CW4 Forrest Myers, USA and to my husband, Veteran of the USMC.
Happy Memorial Day and Thank You ALL for your sacrifices.

The Final Inspection

A Soldier stood and faced his God,
Which must always come to pass.
He hoped his shoes were shining,
Just as brightly as his brass.

“Step forward now, you soldier,
How shall I deal with you?
Have you always turned the other cheek?
To My Church have you been true?”

The soldier squared his shoulders and said,
“No, Lord, I guess I ain’t,
Because those of us who carry guns,
Can’t always be a saint.

I’ve had to work most Sundays,
And at times my talk was tough.
And sometimes I’ve been violent,
Because the world is awfully rough.

But, I never took a penny,
That wasn’t mine to keep.
Though I worked a lot of overtime,
When the bills got just too steep.

And I never passed a cry for help,
Though at times I shook with fear.
And sometimes, God forgive me,
I’ve wept unmanly tears.

I know I don’t deserve a place,
Among the people here.
They never wanted me around,
Except to calm their fears.

If you’ve a place for me here, Lord,
It needn’t be so grand.
I’ve never expected, or had much,
But if you don’t, I’ll understand.”

There was a silence all around the throne,
Where the saints had often trod.
As the soldier waited quietly,
For the judgment of his God.

“Step forward now, you soldier,
You’ve borne your burdens well.
Walk peacefully on Heaven’s streets,
You’ve done your time in Hell.”

Photos for May 6th -

May 6, 2007 at 10:31 am (Uncategorized)

So, we often get weird looks while photographing our food, but I couldn’t resist this amazing dessert that I ordered while at Walt Disney World. It tasted even better than it looks LOL..

These are some more of the pictures that I took this past fall. This is why they call these the Smokey Mountains LOL..

This is the amazing front porch of my house. This and the view it offers is what sold us on a house that really it too small for us LOL…The sacrifices we make for beauty!

Here is a front porch visitor. I took this while standing in my living room looking out of the window. You can probably even see the screen if you look hard enough LOL…

This is a bird hanging out on my husbands version of a bird feeder on the back deck. Also taken through glass while standing in my dining room.

This was taken before I knew about overexposing while taking pictures of snow. So I tried to fix it as best I could in Photoshop.

I hope you enjoyed these pictures!

Some more pictures!

April 29, 2007 at 11:19 pm (Nature/Outdoors)

These were taken last fall. I know they are old, but I haven’t really been out with my camera due to weather, lazyness, etc LOL….

So, here are some pictures, they aren’t my favorite, so if you have any CC, please feel free to leave me a comment, or two, or three…

The locations of these shots are about 10-15 minutes up the mountain from me….
Enjoy!
